Help us provide technology and data expertise to the private capital markets

We are experiencing a period of significant growth and need first class people to help support this

Technology has become one of the key contributors to a successful business. Businesses might want to increase efficiencies in one area or pull data from across the firm to drive deeper insights. With the right solution, technology can help transform their business. At it|venture, we provide technology services for private capital markets. We bring together our extensive industry knowledge and specialist expertise to help our clients find the best solution. Working alongside industry experts, our teams create innovative and robust solutions to our client’s challenges. We provide expertise across different technologies and are specialists in data and cloud solutions. So, if that sounds like your kind of thing, then we’d love to hear from you. By bridging the gap between business and technology, we solve problems.

Bertie Heyman

CEO

At it|venture we are expanding rapidly. We service a wide range of global private capital markets businesses, providing them with data and technology improvements and expertise. To keep pace with our growth plans, we are always looking for talented individuals to fill our current vacancies. So, if you’re starting your career or looking to advance to the next stage, and you want to be part of something big, then get in touch.

What do our people think?

I love the size of the business and the flexibility that comes with that. We are such an agile and adaptable organisation. Most of my career before it|venture was with the civil service; a huge organisation that was incredibly regimented. The ability to create change in that environment is all but non-existent. At it|venture it’s the polar opposite. And I also love the inherent culture of trust the business has developed. I am trusted to get on with things and deliver. Support is there if you need it, but not being micromanaged and the ability to manage my own workload is incredibly satisfying.

Our current roles

You will find all our available roles below. However, if you don’t see one that fits you, but you think you’ve still got something to offer, we’d like to hear from you. At it|venture we value talent and, as a business that’s growing by the day, we’re always interested to hear from people who have the skills and experience we need to service our global client base.

Professional Services
Technical Consultant

Whilst most consultancy practices can tell a client how to achieve a goal, we pride ourselves on our ability to roll up our sleeves and realise that goal. As we look to expand our services offering, we are seeking a candidate to join our growing team.

What's it like to work here?

When did you join it | venture?

I joined the business in the midst of the pandemic when everyone was working from home, in June 2020. I knew I had arrived at a great business when Bertie, our CEO, turned up at my house to deliver all my IT kit and welcome me to the business. I was terrified, but he could not have been nicer. I don’t think many CEOs would take the time to do that.

My job at it|venture is my second role, after beginning my working life working in the airline industry. I’ll be honest, there wasn’t a huge scope for career development in that role. It was very easy to get lost because there were so many people in the business. It also meant that it was harder to pick up new skills quickly. And that’s the polar opposite of it|venture.

What is your role?

I am a senior consultant, but I began as a junior consultant. Most of my time is currently spent looking after two of our bigger clients. For one my work began with a huge data migration project which has gone live and we are now looking at improving other parts of their processes. For the other client, we have just begun a new eFront implementation project, which is redefining their approach to data.

I love my role. Interacting with clients, problem solving, having clients who genuinely value the advice I give and the solutions we create. And, I am never bored, which is a big thing for me.

Do you have a typical day?

No. Which, given what I just said about the importance of not being bored, is brilliant. There is huge variety in my working day. Sometimes I work on my own, sometimes I work with part of a wider team. And I love that.

What’s the best thing about it | venture?

Am I only allowed one? In all seriousness, there are probably two things that make the business so great. Firstly, they want their people to progress. I started with the business as a junior consultant but within two years I had been promoted twice. Now, I’d like to think that some of that was because I am pretty good at what I do, but a lot of it is because the business wants to help. Senior leaders are always available to talk, acting as mentors, and they put a huge amount of trust in their people to deliver and grow.

Secondly, it’s all the people. Everyone supports everyone. If you have a challenge, or indeed a problem, you never have to suffer in silence. We can always ask questions and you never feel alone. For me, that is the kind of culture that the best businesses are built on.

What is your proudest achievement?

I have always struggled a little with confidence. But it|venture has helped instil a real sense of belief in myself. The business has let me grow, let me develop my own way of working, and trusts me to deliver. And now, with my specific clients, I am the face of the business. I can’t tell you how amazing that feels.

When did you join it | venture?

I joined the business in September 2021 having begun my working life, after graduating from the University of Manchester, with a market research company as a CRM Manager. In my first role I soon realised that I wanted a job that combined technical work with client relationships.

What is your role?

I am a technical consultant and I predominantly work on our DealCloud retainer. DealCloud engage us to supplement their own internal team to deliver projects for their clients. I tend to work on their larger implementations and my work is focused on transforming legacy systems into scalable and manageable DealCloud environments. So I spend a lot of time understanding their clients’ current systems and set ups before mapping them out and create a transformational journey. Some of my projects can last as long as six months, some can be smaller. I like the balance and variety this creates.

Do you have a typical day?

Not really. Of course, I do deal with the same types of problems and challenges. But as no two clients are the same, there is a natural variety to what I do.

What’s the best thing about it | venture?

It is such a friendly business. From senior leadership, right the way through the business, everyone is pleased to be part of such a good team. I guess you could say we are big enough to matter, but small enough to care. I get to work with different people all the time, but with shared skill sets. So we are always there to help each other.

I think it’s also important to state that the business leaders really want to see everyone develop. They encourage that and there are clear career pathways in the organisation for everyone to grow.

What is your proudest achievement?

One project that I always think about is one where I feel I had a big influence on a positive outcome. It was a challenging piece of the work that hadn’t begun brilliantly, but I decided to go and spend significant time working in the client’s offices, thereby developing key, day-to-day working relationships with their internal team. There was lots of problem solving and creating solutions together. We eventually delivered a solution that the client was thrilled with.

Is there anything else?

I have been training to row across the Atlantic. In December 2022 myself and my two brothers will attempt to row 3,000 miles from La Gomera to Antigua. We are attempting to become the first children of an Atlantic Ocean rower to compete with their father’s time. As well as become only the second trio of brothers to ever row an ocean.

We are doing this to raise money for Tusk, a charity focused on progressive wildlife initiatives across Africa. When I first discussed wanting to do this with my line manager, I was amazed by the lack of persuasion it took to get him to agree to it. And the business has been nothing but hugely supportive of everything we have needed to do to prepare. When I tell my friends about it they are equally amazed by the support it|venture has offered. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have such supportive employers.

Our work. Could it be yours?

With significant experience in our domain, we have many examples of how we have helped businesses solve problems and challenges. Always delivering compelling and useful solutions. Here’s just one example of how we designed a target operating model and delivered a revolutionary approach to data gathering, processing and reporting.
